Who may perform inspections?

Permitted to carry out the safety audit are:

  • certified experts or auditors for the vehicle transport at the technical test centres and test engineers at the monitoring organisations
  • Certified automobile workshops. The corresponding recognition with authorisation to carry out safety audits is issued by the relevant highest state authorities or the centres appointed by them
    (trade guilds, vehicle guilds)

Automobile workshops wishing to carry out a new safety audit must also fulfil the following prerequisites and conditions:

  1. Proof of successful completion of a training seminar corresponding to the respective state-of-the-art for the vehicles to be audited
  2. Proof of the documentation from the organisation whose rules the proper execution of the safety audit ensures
