Practical training
Finally take control of the wheel yourself
Every driving lesson brings you a bit closer to your goal: the time needed before you take your test depends on a number of factors.
From beginner to competent driver: Everyone who sits behind a wheel will have his own story to tell about his journey towards passing his driving test. Sometimes exciting, sometimes unspectacular, but always unique. How each individual makes progress in his test depends on a number of things: On organisational matters such as obtaining the right documents for the application, on how often instruction is attended, on prior knowledge due to existing classes of driving licence such as a moped test certificate; or on personal factors such as mental grasp, learning progress and personal motivation.
Every driving lesson takes you that bit further
Many driving schools now work with training diagram maps that record the respective stage of training reached and thus make it easy for learner drivers to see what stage of development they are at. After passing the basic, intermediate and upper intermediate levels, drivers can embark on special educational driving. The frequency and seriousness of accidents on secondary roads, motorways and in the dark is particularly high. This educational driving is thus precisely tailored to these situations and is thus extremely important. Naturally, the driving instructor can only put you forward for the test if you have achieved the training objectives.
Practical training involves numerous levels.
Level |
Content |
Basic level |
Getting to know the vehicle and learning to operate it |
Intermediate level |
Environmentally friendly operation of a vehicle, correct looking technique and anticipatory driving |
Upper intermediate level |
Dealing with different traffic situations, acting in time and correctly |
Special educational driving level |
Safe driving at higher speeds on secondary roads, motorways and in the dark. |
Higher level and test level |
Completion of training and preparation for the test |
