Trust only the original
Caution, pitfall! Lately, more and more copies of vehicle part approvals, opinions and increased GVW certificates are being offered. But these are not adequate for an appraisal.
Experts want the original
Don't buy everything at face value from a dealer. For example, many of them claim that copies are sufficient for increasing the GVW if its type is designated in the copies. TÜV experts cannot require the submission of an original certificate, because no technical change is required to change the GVW.
This is not correct. Only with the original can the experts confirm that they have a corresponding GVW release from a vehicle manufacturer, vehicle importer, technical service or officially recognised expert (certification as per § 27 StVZO, form as per VkBl volume 7 2000, page 124 ff).
If a copy is used, neither the manufacturer nor the contents of the original can be demonstrated with certainty. And how can the TÜV expert determine that a customer has earned the "right of use" for the desired certificate as per § 27 StVZO?
