DRIVER'S LICENSE FOR LORRIES (Class C)

Extending a class 2 driver's license
Throw away the "old rag"
Then you can drive lorries over 7.5 tons until you reach age 50. By then it will be time to convert your driver's license to the new class CE driver's license. Your driver's license will then be valid for a period of five years.
The driver's license ordinance prescribes the following examinations:
- the medical examination for ruling out illnesses that might negatively affect your fitness to drive.
- the eyesight examination with regard to visual acuity, peripheral vision, color and stereoscopic vision.

Driver's license class C, C1 and C1E
Simply continue driving
If you want to get your class C1E, C or CE driver's license or to extend it by five more years, you must satisfy certain health requirements.
To this end, we will provide you with the following examinations, which are required by law:
- the medical examination for ruling out illnesses that will affect your fitness or your conditional fitness.
- the eyesight examination with regard to visual acuity, peripheral vision, color and stereoscopic vision.

Important:
The examination is also required for initial issuance of the so-called Class C1E, i.e. for vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tons, which previously fell under Class 3.
