EC test of subsystem
EC test of parts system in line with TSI module
For railway subsystems, such as the infrastructure or the vehicle subsystem, an application for a conformity assessment of must be submitted at a notified body and an EC test declaration must be issued. EC test declarations are required to obtain commissioning approvals for all national railway approval authorities.
All subsystem components must be assessed with regard to the EC test declaration. During the process, each of these components should be treated as an independent subsystem. The assessement also determines the extent by which a component interacts with the subsystem as a whole and with the other elements of the subsystem and other subsystems. This includes an analysis and assessment of the interfaces.
When assessing subsystems, the test procedure must be carried out by a notified body according to standards and TSIs (technical interoperability specifications). The client selects the modules to be used for the assessment method according to the TSI and applies for the EC testing procedure. Within this context, it is important that the corresponding EC conformity declarations and/or declarations of suitability are present for the installed interoperability components.
Once the testing procedure is successfully completed, the notified body issues the EC test certificate.
TÜV NORD is an associated partner of the German Notified Body Eisenbahn-Cert. We support you throughout the entire EC testing process, as well as with all questions concerning the standards and TSIs to be applied.
