Alternatives to the car
All change
Do something to improve your health, leave your car parked. Switch to public transportation or cover short distances on a bicycle or on foot. You won't just be saving money. Instead of burning fuel, you will be burning calories.
You are the engine
For a short trip to the corner bakery, leave your car in the garage. It is exactly such short trips that use a disproportionate amount of fuel, because fuel consumption only reaches the normal level once the engine reaches its operating temperature.
Our tip: Leave your car parked and ride a bike or walk as often as possible. You will be doing something good for your health and for the environment.
The train is coming
At 50 km/h, just close your eyes. Or perhaps you would rather read a paper or just daydream out the window: This is only possible on a bus or train. In larger cities, the public transportation network is particularly well developed and buses and trams will even conveniently take you from A to B in smaller towns as well. No traffic jams. No stress. No hectic days. No exhaust. The monthly ticket is often cheaper than a tank of gasoline.
