TÜViT: "E-Postbrief" is secure
TÜV Informationstechnik (TÜViT) has awarded the "Trusted Site Privacy" certificate to the "E-Postbrief" online letter service of the German post office, Deutsche Post. This TÜViT certificate testifies that the E-Postbrief platform fulfils stringent requirements with regard to legal compliance, data protection and security.
"The certificate bears witness to a very high level of security and data protection, which consumers can truly rely on. And annual inspections guarantee that this level is also maintained over the long term", explained Antonius Sommer, Managing Director of TÜViT, during the presentation event in the Post Tower in Bonn.
The certificate covers components which are needed from the point of view of the user for everyday use of the E-Postbrief, including the billing and support processes. Among others, the following areas were inspected: legal compliance, legitimacy of processing, user friendliness, client friendliness, transparency, data protection, quality management and data security.
"The certificate demonstrates both the quality of the security standards and also the user friendliness of the E-Postbrief. These are the central parameters for a good IT product", says Ralph Wiegand, Member of the Management Board at the "Letter" Division of Deutsche Post.
The "Trusted Site Privacy" certificate for the E-Postbrief s valid until 2013, but is subject to annual monitoring. Last year TÜViT already inspected the information security management of Deutsche Post for the E-Postbrief. TÜViT is a member of TÜV NORD Group.
