Hardware development of safety -oriented systems
The procedure for hardware development of safety-oriented systems is described in the sector-specific, industry-related standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 25119, IEC 61800-5-2 or in the generic meta standard for functional safety IEC 61508-2. The hardware development is part of the safety lifecycle of an electric, electronic or programmable electronic system (E/E/PES). Hardware development is primarily concerned with implementing measures for preventing, detecting and overcoming chance hardware faults and measures for preventing and overcoming systematic faults during the development.
