Burnout
Burnout in everyday working life
Stress, burnout and psychological overload in everyday working life have been making media headlines for several years now. The increase in psychological stress factors above all influences the ability to complete tasks effectively and also affects safety at work and the health and wellbeing of the workforce. All this has led in turn to long periods of absence in recent years, and has therefore given rise to immense costs for business and industry.
Don't let things go this far ! It is much more effective to make a preventive investment in the health of those working within your company. Only a committed and satisfied workforce with a high level of mental health can provide good work performance over the long term.
What is Burnout?
The concept of "Burnout" describes a stress syndrome which develops slowly and has a tendency to become chronic if left untreated. It is characterised by a state of mental and emotional exhaustion. The origins of burnout are to be found in the individual him- or herself, the working and living environment and in the surrounding social structures. Examples of major problems within the working environment include lack of appreciation, changes within the organisation and a lack of opportunity to utilise talents and abilities to the full.
Methods such as coaching, for example, mean that those affected no longer see themselves as merely passive, but feel that they can actively shape the conditions of their life.
