EMC testing in the automotive area

Testing for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of vehicle components is mandatory for safety-relevant products, in order to prevent disturbances, unsafe operating states or even accidents caused by electromagnetic disturbances of the on-board electronics (e.g. ABS, airbag etc.).

In its EMC laboratory, TÜV NORD CERT offers all the relevant EMC tests in the automotive and electromobility sectors, supporting manufacturers when they wish to enter the market with their components.

Fulfilment of legal regulations and sign of quality

For products which are to be registered at the Federal Motor Transport Authority within the framework of a type approval procedure (e1-mark), the EMC test is a part of the approval procedure that has to be undertaken by the manufacturer. Even in the case of non safety-relevant products, which can be placed on the market without type approval, the "e" e1-mark is a sign of quality and enhances acceptance of the product.

Tests for vehicle components

Our test laboratory is accredited by DAkkS (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 and by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). Our experts have long years of experience and are comprehensively qualified.
