Eco-balance
Ecologically optimized
Against the backdrop of the current discussion on climate change, more emphasis is being put on comparing products in regard to their eco-balance qualities. More and more companies are deciding to ecologically optimize their products. This allows weak spots to be analyzed and the quality of data can be checked in analyses.
The advantages of a positive, certified eco-balance are multifaceted - it improves both the competitive position in the market and internal processes. The results can be used for efficient marketing and in the company's environmental report. Production and Design can develop the ideal material or substance options for themselves, without having to sacrifice the advantages in other areas. And last but not least, more and more customers feel that the eco-balance is crucial for making a purchasing decision.
TÜV NORD CERT provides the following services on the basis of ISO 14040/14044 and the critical testing of the product follows it throughout its entire service life.
- Check and evaluation of the goals and methods of the eco-balance (material flow balance), check of the plausibility, input/output balance or life cycle inventory analysis,
- Check of the balance of effects on the environment, e.g. climate relevance, eco-toxicity or strain on resources
- Balance evaluation
We test and assess (on-site as well) the documentation submitted by the customer, who calculates the service life of his product on a solid basis of data. We are available for a detailed discussion of the results with an accompanying detailed analysis (check of the stability of the eco-balance on the computer). At the end, we create a comprehensive report. The check takes between five and ten days.
Our service is aimed at large companies, primarily in the chemical and automotive/automobile supply industry. We also support companies in energy-intensive industries, giving them the capability of maintaining a product-related evaluation in addition to the site-related check within the scope of carbon dioxide balancing. Our references include such companies as Solvay and Continental; and we are currently conducting tests for Volkswagen's Touran class.
